Regan Deering - Featured Farmer

Regan Deering joined The Citizen Farmers in April of this year, following a career as a science teacher and small business owner, and she embodies what being a Citizen Farmer is all about! Regan has significantly contributed to her community by leading as the volunteer Chair of the Decatur Public School Foundation, spearheading the construction of a new community food bank, and currently serves on her local school board, where she advocates passionately for equitable access to quality education for all children.

Regan holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Duke University and a Master of Education from DePaul University.

A lifelong resident of the Decatur area, Regan, together with her husband Brian, are dedicated parents to their three children. They actively participate in their community as members of Holy Family Catholic Church.

Deering is running unopposed in the general election for the Illinois House of Representatives and is set to take office in January 2025, succeeding the retired Illinois Representative Dan Caulkins.
